Parole board recommends that Schweitzer reject Smith clemency bid

The Montana Parole Board on Monday recommended that Governor Brian Schweitzer (D) deny clemency to convicted murderer Ronald Allen Smith.
Smith was sentenced to death in March 1983 after pleading guilty to murdering Harvey Mad Man, Jr., 23, and Thomas Running Rabbit, 20.

Helena teen found guilty of sexual assault of toddler

Helena teen Kaashawn Uncles was found guilty last week after a second jury trial of sexual assault of a 3-year old girl.
The original trial held last June resulted in a hung jury.
Uncles, 17, was accused of the molestation when he was 14.

Dullum in court for April rollover

Helena teen on trial again for alleged sexual assault of toddler

A Helena teenager is being tried once again for an alleged sexual assault of a 3-year-old from a case in 2010.
The first trial, in June 2011, was declared a mistrial after a jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.
The case involves Kashaawnn Uncles, who was then a minor.
