Although a ridge of high pressure is working to keep the Northwest fairly dry, high clouds continue to drift through Montana.
Skies will become partly cloudy overnight, and a few snow showers will be possible in Helena.
Another wave of moisture arriving Thursday afternoon may also touch off some rain/snow showers, but a soggy day is not expected.
Afternoon highs should reach the upper 30s.
We are continuing to track a backdoor cold front which will arrive on Friday.
This will bring the opportunity for light snow in Helena.
Heavy snow is not likely, but an inch or two could accumulate by Friday night.
Cooler air will move in during this time, so highs should only top out in the lower 30s Friday and again Saturday.
Next week, a fairly complex setup will keep a slight chance for snow showers in the forecast.
Right now, there is not a lot of confidence in the long-range models, but a somewhat active pattern looks likely through the middle part of next week.
